Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking an Operating Room First Assist specialist with expertise in Open Heart procedures for a facility located in Salem, Virginia. The role involves providing advanced surgical support in a specialized operating room setting, requiring proficient knowledge of orthopedic, neuro, and trauma procedures. The position offers an opportunity to work with a skilled team utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.

Job Details:

• Shift: Days, 10-hour shifts, rotating call on weeknights and weekends
• Required Qualifications: Licensed First Assist (FA) with certification from the Board of Medicine in Virginia. Proficiency in orthopedic, Da Vinci robotic systems, and neuro surgeries. Experience with procedures such as craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple, and MAKO total joint.
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional advanced skills in orthopedic, neuro, and trauma surgeries are highly desirable.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit has 10 beds in the main OR.
  • Patient ratios are 1:1, with unit-specific staffing including circulators and technicians per room.
  • Utilizes Meditech documentation system.
  • No floating policy; candidates must adhere to unit guidelines and policies.
  • Attire required: scrubs provided.
