Job Summary:
The Telemetry Medical Surgical Float nurse position is based in Newport, Vermont, during night shifts. This role involves providing care to patients on telemetry, medical-surgical, and other units with responsibilities including functioning as a charge nurse. The position requires the ability to work independently, float to various units as needed, and support departmental education sessions. The facility is a critical access hospital serving a close-knit community in the Northeast Kingdom.

Job Details:

• Location: Newport, Vermont
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum 1 year of nursing experience, educational qualifications as required; experience with telemetry, medical-surgical, and float assignments preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse experience, familiarity with independent practice and unit float requirements
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information: The hospital is a 25-bed critical access facility located in a community known for outdoor recreation such as hiking, skiing, and fishing. Public transportation is limited, so personal transportation is strongly recommended. Candidates are encouraged to embrace living and working in a peaceful, recreation-rich environment.
