Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation is sought for an assignment in a healthcare facility located in Downey, California. This short-term position offers an opportunity to deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from major surgeries, strokes, and complex medical conditions within a dedicated rehabilitation setting. The role focuses on assisting patients with regaining independence, participating in multidisciplinary therapies, and preparing for discharge, all within an 8-week contract.

Job Details:

Location: Downey, California
Shift Schedule: Nights, weekends, and holidays; 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Medical Assessment Battery (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City), completion of LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to assignment start
Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients recovering from major surgeries, strokes, and complex medical conditions; assist with patient independence and daily living activities; participate in multidisciplinary therapies; prepare patients and families for discharge including education
Additional Information: Fully committed RNs are preferred for this 8-week assignment. Scheduling allows for quick fulfillment within 1-2 days; however, scheduling is not guaranteed. During the assignment, time off cannot be pre-approved for any weeks of work or observed holidays.
Start Date: 08/31/2026
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within a Medical/Surgical Rehabilitation setting; no minimum experience required
