Job Summary
Lamar, Colorado The Operating Room Technician (ORT) specializing in surgical technology will support the surgical healthcare team in the operating room environment. This role involves preparing supplies and instruments, maintaining aseptic practices, and ensuring the sterility and proper functioning of surgical instruments. The ORT will assist surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia providers during procedures, following all sterile protocols and safety standards.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift; 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week minimum.
• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) with a minimum of 5 years of current experience as a Surgical Technician; must be registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Additional Information: The ORT will operate sterilizers, verify sterilization of surgical instruments, and perform decontamination procedures after surgeries. The role requires long periods of standing and physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases. The position reports directly to the Surgical Services Department Manager.
