Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Panama City, Florida. This role involves providing high-quality patient care by following established nursing care plans, performing assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The RN will supervise other nursing personnel, ensure patient safety, and contribute to positive patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts with 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to first shift (CIRH only), at least two years of bedside clinical experience, and 0 years of minimum experience as specified.
• Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
• Identifies teaching needs and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to meet care objectives.
• Provides timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participates in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on education for patients, families, and significant others.
• Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and starts patient education regarding discharge needs.
• Communicates pertinent patient status changes to support continuity of care, including to the attending physician and charge nurse.
• Seeks consultation from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decision-making.
• Supervises and trains ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately and organizing workflow efficiently.
• Ensures personal and environmental safety per hospital and nursing policies, fostering a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Contributes to team functioning by providing calm, direction, and reassurance, actively participating in team building activities.
• Maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment needs, and clinical training.
• Provides cost-effective patient care to promote quality outcomes, monitors supplies and charges.
• Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested.
• Pursues ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Prioritizes activities and plans effectively to meet patient needs.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
