Description

Job Summary:
The oncology clinic registered nurse position is located in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This role involves delivering patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will administer and monitor patient responses to all medications, guide patient care, and oversee activities of ancillary personnel while upholding professional standards within hospital policy. This position emphasizes maintaining high-quality customer service and contributing to the overall quality of patient care in a clinical setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; at least 3 years of experience in an oncology outpatient setting; Outpatient experience required; travel experience required; ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required; proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English; successful completion of CCH Pharmacology exam; demonstrated ability to educate and counsel oncology patients in curative and palliative treatments; capable of working with terminally ill patients and their families; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Additional Information: The role involves participating in staff meetings, attending mandatory programs, and obtaining continuing education credits. The nurse will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in computerized nursing informatics, assume charge nurse responsibilities, and serve as a resource for staff. Commitment to safety policies and patient confidentiality is essential, as is participation in community and hospital activities related to the position.
