Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Renton, Washington. This role involves providing high-quality care in a busy Emergency Department with a focus on trauma and critical care cases. The position requires experienced healthcare professionals capable of managing a diverse patient population and working rotating shifts to meet the department's needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice nursing, at least 3 years of emergency room experience, including 1+ year in a trauma center. Certifications required include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience, experience managing a high patient volume, and ability to provide culturally competent care.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 3+ years of ER experience, including trauma experience, and prior travel experience. Comfortable working with a dynamic, diverse patient population.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
- Responsibilities include managing trauma, stroke, sepsis, respiratory diseases, behavioral health cases, and more within a Level III trauma setting.
- Environment: The unit features a four-zone department with approximately 55 beds and 8-12 swing beds, managing an average of 250 patients per day. Separation of triage, holding, and psych/seclusion areas is in place, with 24/7 security and monitoring.
- Additional information: Heavy evening and overnight shifts, with a focus on quality and culturally competent patient care. The hospital is located approximately 10 minutes south of Seattle, serving a large and diverse community, with easy access to outdoor activities and city attractions.
