Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse in Olympia, Washington. This role requires providing care for long length of stay and acute patients, many with behavioral, cognitive, and complex medical needs. The position involves floating between like units within the scope of practice, with a focus on delivering quality patient care in a short-term acute care setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 1 year of nursing experience, BLS certification, CPR, competent in managing ports, blood product administration, wound care, oxygen administration, and handling patients with various diagnoses including dementia, autism, and psychosis.
- Preferred Qualifications: Community hospital experience, LTAC, trauma level II experience.
- Float: Float to medical-surgical units as needed, within scope.
- Additional Information:
- Facility: Short Term Acute Care with 325 staffed beds.
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with daily census of approximately 18 patients.
- Patients often require heavy care assistance, including medication management, behavioral support, and mobility assistance.
- Long length of stay patients are assessed weekly by providers; medical patients are seen daily.
- Equipment available includes lifts, mobility aids, and wheelchairs.
- Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
- Candidate must provide two references covering one year (six months for CNAs) within the last three years prior to start date.
