Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Medical Surgical Specialty Nurse is a Registered Nurse practicing in an outpatient setting within the scope of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory standards, and hospital policies. This role involves providing evidence-based, patient-centered care, performing all aspects of the nursing process, and collaborating with patients and their families to promote healing and recovery. The nurse will demonstrate professional development and contribute to the nursing profession through education and sharing expertise.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred; at least 1 year of nursing experience; ability to communicate effectively in English; current licensure and certification valid at the time of employment; location in or willing to work in the area of Emeryville, California.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in ambulatory care, medical-surgical nursing, or outpatient settings.
• Additional Information: The nurse will create and maintain a healing environment, assess and interpret patient data, develop individualized care plans, and teach patients and families self-care strategies. Responsibilities include responding quickly to problem situations, collaborating with healthcare team members, and utilizing technology for documentation and communication. The role also involves contributing to team development and professional growth through informal or formal teaching activities and participating in unit programs and meetings.
