Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit Trauma located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing expert care to adult patients in a fast-paced Level One Trauma Center ICU, utilizing advanced life support therapies and participating in cutting-edge research. The position offers an opportunity to be part of a highly awarded, Magnet-designated facility committed to excellence in patient outcomes and professional development.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts between 1900 and 0730, with weekend and holiday rotation, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license, at least 2 years of ICU experience within the last 3 years, current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, Epic electronic medical record experience, and recent insertion or removal of chest tubes, arterial lines, and ventilator management skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma patient care, use of various advanced therapies such as ECMO and continuous dialysis, and familiarity with pediatric cardiac interpretation (adult and pediatric telemetry exams required).
- Patient Ratios: 2 patients per nurse at night, with additional support available from interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, pharmacy, and radiology services.
- Additional Information: Travelers are expected to float as needed within the facility. Pass/fail telemetry interpretation assessments are required, with two attempts allowed. The role involves involvement in evidence-based therapies and emergency response activities. Parking is permit-only through UW Transportation. The assignment begins on 08/31/2026 at a ranked Wisconsin hospital recognized nationally for excellence.
