Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Issaquah, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care within a department that manages labor, delivery, and postpartum patients. The position requires clinical expertise in obstetrics and neonatal care, working in a fast-paced environment to support mothers and newborns through various stages of delivery and recovery.

Job Details:

Schedule: Nights shift; 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or related obstetric care, BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRN (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications, valid state license (compact license accepted), at least 1 year of relevant experience, and a minimum of 1 year of recent clinical practice in obstetrics.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postpartum care, neonatal assessments, breastfeeding instruction, and familiarity with electronic charting systems such as Epic.
Float: Float rotation may be required between Labor and Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or L&D units.
Additional Information: Candidates will be responsible for managing postpartum and neonatal patient care, including thermoregulation, glucose management, and post-vaginal delivery recovery. Skills required include postpartum assessment, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, epidural management, use of PCA (Patient Controlled Analgesia), wound care, and the administration of blood products and medications such as Heparin and Magnesium Sulfate. The role may involve shared responsibilities with other obstetric units, supporting low-risk antepartum, transition nursery, and postpartum re-admission patients.
