Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse opportunity in ISSAQUAH, Washington. This role involves supporting the labor and preterm labor units with a focus on obstetric and postpartum care. The position is ideal for seasoned professionals comfortable attending all deliveries, including high-risk cases, while working a 12-hour shift schedule.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience, active compact license in Washington, BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate certifications; ACLS preferred
  • Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, assistance with high-risk deliveries, circulating for cesarean sections, epidural anesthesia, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, transition nursery, use of intrauterine pressure catheter, use of IV PCA, sterile vaginal exams, pain management, postpartum assessment and care, high risk and low risk labor management, magnesium sulfate therapy, wound assessment, and teaching on obstetric care
  • Patient Diagnoses: Labor and preterm labor, high-risk obstetrics, postpartum care, GYN surgeries, low-risk antepartum, transition nursery
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: Attend all deliveries, including high-risk; GYN surgeries; couplet care; low risk antepartum; transition nursery
  • Float: Post-partum, with potential to float to labor and delivery units at the facility
  • Additional Requirements: Previous charge nurse experience, charting system proficiency in Epic, ability to assist with high-risk labor, and compliance with facility-specific policies.
  • Candidate Qualifications: Must include at least 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years, with experience at a Providence facility or equivalent. Candidates must have worked at similar facilities with minimum one-year experience.
  • Other Notes: Candidates should be prepared to work three of the five major holidays and plan for possible floating between units and facilities. Submission should include responses to specific screening questions regarding prior employment at Providence facilities and references.
