Job Summary:
The medical surgical oncology floor nurse position is based in California. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a step-down and telemetry unit within a healthcare organization. The facility is located across the street from an onboarding location, with dedicated parking and operational hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The position emphasizes a patient ratio of 3:1 for step-down and 4:1 for telemetry units, focusing on nursing responsibilities rather than assistance from certified nursing assistants.
Job Details:
- Location: Modesto, California
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/18/2026
- Required Qualifications: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or equivalent, valid California state nursing license, and at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical or oncology units.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on oncology floors, familiarity with patient ratios and telemetry monitoring, and basic proficiency with electronic health records.
- Additional Information: During orientation, all travelers are expected to report to the designated onboarding location at 7:00 AM. The unit staff nurses are responsible for patient care, with no assistance from certified nursing assistants. The hospital is accessible with ample parking, avoiding hospital parking areas, and is situated within the specified location address.
