Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position available in a supportive healthcare environment. The role involves assessing and caring for patients with cardiac and respiratory needs, providing education, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position emphasizes clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care excellence.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours weekly
- Required Qualifications: Current Illinois Registered Nurse license; current CPR/BLS Card; ACLS certification; minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience in a progressive care or related unit; flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with acuity fluctuations
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac and respiratory patient populations, ability to adapt to fluctuating acuity levels, strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills
- Additional Information: The role includes a 1900-0730 shift, every other weekend and holidays. There are no on-call requirements, but overtime is available for those interested. Acuity levels vary, and a supportive, collaborative culture exists within the department. The manager is accessible and engaged with night shift staff. This is a temporary assignment scheduled to start on 09/07/2026 and end on 12/07/2026.
