Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in Hilo, Hawaii. The role involves assisting with turnover cleaning, transporting patients, and scrubbed procedures across various specialties including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, and Robotic surgeries. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience in a hospital setting, with flexibility around shift schedules to meet department needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, operating from 6:45 AM to 11:15 PM. Shifts may vary based on departmental needs. Typically, the schedule includes 40 hours per week, with the possibility of 32 hours during holidays. Candidates will be scheduled for a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract duration if requests for time off are made.
  • Required Qualifications: Certified or licensed OR Nurse with a valid Hawaii nursing license (applicants not currently licensed in Hawaii must obtain license before start date). Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience in a hospital setting, including procedures in General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, and Robotic surgery.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with outpatient Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures and small busy operating rooms.
  • Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • Arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment scheduled on Friday.
    • The OR is equipped with 1-2 outpatient GI labs running simultaneously.
    • Scrubs are provided.
    • Orientation will be on day shift for up to one week or until the managers discretion.
    • The facility operates seven days a week and covers call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with each staff member assigned to 1-2 call shifts weekly, including up to two weekends per month, with a 20-minute callback time.
