Description

Job Summary:
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves providing specialized critical care to surgical and trauma patients within a Level I Trauma Center. The position requires adherence to established clinical protocols and active licensure, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Active, unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
    • Must pass EKG exam with 80% or better during orientation
    • Two (2) or more years of full-time staff RN experience in a Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a Level I Trauma Center required
    • All licenses and certifications must be valid at the time of application submission through the duration of the initial contract
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certification(s) such as Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) highly desired
    • TNCC, ENLS, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or equivalent, and certifiable specialty certifications preferred
    • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) highly desired
    • Previous travelers to the healthcare system highly preferred
    • Flexibility to float to ICU, Stepdown, and Telemetry units based on facility needs
  • Additional Information:
    • Compliance must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the contract start date; failure to do so may delay or cancel the assignment
    • Submission of a current NURSYS report is required for all applications
    • If RN is not needed on their unit or similar unit as an RN, they may be assigned to serve as a nursing assistant or safety sitter; this is an expected part of the role.
