Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit registered nurse position located in San Francisco. This role involves providing critical care to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on advanced cardiovascular support, transplant recovery, and multi-organ support therapies. The position requires flexibility to float across various departments and UCSF facilities as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, 36 hours per week, starting 09/01/2026.
- Required Qualifications: CA registered nurse license, BSN degree, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), travel nursing experience for 1 year or less in the past 5 years, minimum of 4 years recent intensive care unit (ICU) experience, experience caring for ECMO patients within the last 6 months to 1 year, ability to float across departments, completed references in hand, and experience with specialties/devices such as ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheters.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with VA ECMO, VV ECMO-PA, RRT (NxStage), IABP (Teleflex), Impella, ventricular assist devices, and transplant care (heart, lung, pancreas). Experience in academic medical centers and managing multiple support devices simultaneously is highly desirable.
- Additional Information: This is a float pool position, requiring the ability to float to all UCSF campuses, including ICU, ED, and PACU. Candidates should demonstrate competency within the UCSF ICU care model, including management of complex critical care patients, mechanical circulatory support, and transplant recovery.
