Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse in Kansas City, Missouri. This position involves providing patient-centered care on a 49-bed unit with a focus on wound care, post-operative recovery, and bedside patient interactions. The role requires adaptability to hospital policies and a commitment to delivering quality nursing services in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days shift; minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: MO Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, at least 1 year of nursing experience, including recent practice in a Medical Surgical (MS) setting, with no specified experience minimum beyond that
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IVs, Foley catheters, wound care, and post-op care is desirable but not mandatory
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, with 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule period
• Additional Information: Unit requires maintaining patient connection through AIDET, bedside shift report, and hourly rounding. Documentation is managed via Meditech electronic health record system. The staffing includes one unit secretary and five patient care technicians during the day shift. Equipment used includes Welch Allen / Dynamap VS machines, wound vacs, bladder scanners, Hoyer lifts, and Sara Steady assist devices.
