Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Inpatient Orthopedic and General Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract in Duluth, Minnesota. The position involves working on a 40-bed unit specializing in orthopedics and general surgery, with a focus on total joint replacements, urology, vascular, and gynecology procedures. The role requires collaborative patient care and adherence to established protocols in a dynamic hospital environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Duluth, Minnesota
- Position: Inpatient Orthopedic and General Surgery RN (Medical Surgical Floor)
- Shift: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, with schedule variability.
- Work Hours: Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/31/2026
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree or Certificate, RN licensure in Minnesota, AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications, at least 2 years of Medical Surgical Orthopedic/General Surgery experience, with at least 1 travel assignment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with total joint replacements, urology, vascular, and gynecology surgeries.
- Additional Information:
- Float to other general west side units including Hospice/Oncology, Neuro EENT, Med/Surg, and Rehab.
- Work involves managing patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights.
- Scrub colors are provided.
- The contract allows for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours.
- During flu season, travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times, following hospital policy.
