Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurses are responsible for providing specialized care to newborns with critical health needs within the neonatal intensive care setting. Located in MESA, Arizona, this position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for neonatal patients, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and professional standards of nursing practice. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to support the health and recovery of vulnerable neonatal patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; experience in neonatal intensive care or a similar acute care environment preferred; additional certification or continuing education in neonatal care is advantageous; relates throughout the interview process the experience, training, and education needed to perform the job.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred; professional certification in neonatal or pediatric care is desirable; experience in a neonatal intensive care unit for at least one year within the past 12 months is preferred.
  • Additional Information: The nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs across physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural domains; formulating and implementing individualized care plans; coordinating with multidisciplinary team members; documenting assessments and interventions accurately; and participating in unit or facility quality improvement activities. The role may include supervision of other licensed and non-licensed staff and engagement in clinical research activities.
