Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in San Diego, California. This position involves providing patient care across various medical units, including general medicine, surgical, neuro, oncologic, and cardiac units. The RN will support multiple locations and may float to different units based on census and operational needs, working primarily night shifts during the four-week schedule.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. A four-week schedule will be provided two weeks in advance. RN will receive a phone call 2 hours before each shift to confirm the facility assignment.
  • Required Qualifications: Active California state license, current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications, 2 years of PCU experience, experience with patient charting systems, and ability to work in a high-acuity environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience floating within hospital or affiliate hospitals, experience with trauma or neuro patient care, familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems, and ability to handle special procedures and equipment.
  • Additional Information: The assignment involves working in multiple locations within the hospital system, with potential movement to a specialized cardiology/neuro unit at the east campus location if activated during the contract period. Candidates must be comfortable floating among units and working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Credentials & Submittal Requirements: Valid California license upon submission, two manager references, and compliance with RTO policies (no RTO in first two weeks, 7 days of RTO allowed). Candidates will float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on census needs. Background checks and license validation are required prior to submission.
