Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position located in Utica, New York. The role involves working night shifts with a focus on ICU patient care, including advanced procedures and equipment use. The position requires prior ICU experience and certifications, supporting a dynamic and critical care environment.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 6:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid NY State Registered Nurse license, current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. Up-to-date resume reflecting at least 2 years of ICU experience in units such as Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, or Neuro ICU, including documented travel experience. Candidates should possess a valid drivers license with address matching demographics.
- Preferred Qualifications: 4-5 years of ICU experience, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in cardiac care, including the use of CRRT and Prismaflex, and heart-related care.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, covering all ICU units except Behavioral and Emergency Room (ER) unless holding.
- Additional Information: Experience with critical care equipment such as IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and therapeutic hypothermia (Artic Sun) is highly desirable. Must have experience with Epic electronic medical record system. Scrub color for shifts is navy. The unit comprises 42 beds, including Neuro/Med, CTICU, and Surgery/Trauma units, specializing in patient diagnoses like strokes, sepsis, neuro intervention, respiratory failure, cardiogenic shock, trauma, and major post-op surgeries.
