Description
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in Dickinson, North Dakota. This role involves providing advanced patient care for critically ill patients in a 4-bed ICU setting. It requires a dedicated team member capable of managing diverse and complex cases with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) / Trauma Certified (TCAR), or experience with trauma patient care. Candidates must possess a current state license and have at least 1 year of relevant ICU experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilator management, nurse coaching skills, and familiarity with electronic medical records.
- Additional Information:
- The unit supports patients with conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac issues, medical detox, and requires management of art lines and Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring.
- RNs are required to titrate drips typical to an ICU setting and interpret telemonitors.
- No respiratory therapy equipment or additional technical responsibilities beyond troubleshooting nasal cannula to ventilator transitions.
- The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment requiring teamwork, coachability, and motivation.
- Orientation involves 3 shifts of 12 hours each.
- The unit operates under a radius rule of 50 miles, and candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization.
- RTO (Return to Office) requests are limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contract and require upfront approval.
- The position begins on 08/17/2026 and may include weekend, holiday shifts, and floating as needed.
- The candidate must pass a fit test if facial hair exists in compliance with safety standards.
