Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specialty position located in Chicago, Illinois, involves working in a 30-bed ICU that encompasses Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU), and Surgical ICU. This role demands critical care expertise, including managing complex neuro and surgical patients, performing bedside procedures, and supporting patients on advanced respiratory and vasoactive support. The position offers an opportunity to work at a comprehensive stroke center with a focus on acute and critical patient management.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/31/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), ICU experience, knowledge of bedside procedures such as intubation, extubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and cardioversion. Experience managing ventilated patients, patients on bipap/avaps, and vasoactive medications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Open heart surgery experience (CABG, valve surgeries, abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs), comprehensive stroke care (EVD, thrombectomy, TNK), experience managing assist devices such as intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella, CRRT (Prisma), prone positioning, and initiation/maintenance of paralytics with TOF/BIS monitoring.
• Additional Information: Floating is an expectation of this contract. No Requests for Time Off (RTO) during holidays. Associates must be able to assist with bedside procedures including intubation, central line and arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and cardioversions. The role requires managing patients with diverse critical conditions such as sepsis, GI bleed, COPD, CHF, DKA, and managing invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
