Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Specialist position located in SAN FRANCISCO, California. This position involves providing specialized care in a Level III NICU for neonates, including surgical patients and those 23 weeks gestation and up. The role requires a dedicated healthcare professional to support a highly skilled team in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, days, from 07:00 to 19:30; no call required, every other weekend, float to pediatric, pediatric intensive care unit, or nursery settings.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California State License, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), 1 year of experience, experience with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Neonatal and Infant patient age groups, and charting system experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NICU III and NICU IV units, dysrhythmia management, ventilator management (including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), line insertions (PICC, umbilical), and care of neonates less than 28 weeks gestation.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to pediatric, pediatric intensive care, or nursery units.
- Additional Information: The role involves supporting a unit with a daily census of 23 neonates, providing care for surgical patients and those requiring cooling, all respiratory modes, line insertions, and advanced respiratory support. The team includes interdisciplinary support such as respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience and supporting documentation of licensure and certifications will be considered. All compliance documents must be submitted within specified deadlines.
