Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This role involves working on a 27-bed surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic surgery, bariatrics, and medical oncology. The nurse will assist in patient care in a high-volume surgical setting with a team-oriented environment, primarily during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
• Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, at least 2 years of experience in a hospital medical-surgical (med-surg) setting, with experience in orthopedics or bariatrics preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with 2 years experience specifically in med-surg, orthopedics, or bariatrics are considered first.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit has 27 beds with 5-6 Registered Nurses (RNs) and 2-3 Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) per shift
  • Typical procedures include orthopedic surgeries (knees, hips, shoulders, cervical), and bariatrics
  • Work collaboratively with team members and maintain a patient-focused approach
  • No specific dress code, scrubs in any color
  • Charge RNs are present during both day and night shifts
  • No floating area specified; work primarily in medical oncology area
  • On-call and weekend shifts are required, with approximately four weekend shifts every four weeks
  • Start date: 08/10/2026
