Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing in Kearney, Nebraska. This role involves providing advanced patient care for critically ill adult patients within a 33-bed intensive care environment. The position requires a focus on trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and other complex medical conditions, with an emphasis on patient titration and monitoring.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Self-scheduling is available for core staff; travelers may be added in.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse. Certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrating cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and troubleshooting ventilators such as nasal cannula to ventilator.
• Additional Information: Experience with electronic charting (EPIC), interpreting and documenting strips, and working on a level 2 trauma unit is necessary. Floating to PCU or MedSurg units may be required, with patient ratios generally 1:2-3 for adults and 1:4-5 during float assignments. Monitoring includes GE brand telemetry; nurses are expected to read and interpret strips. Responsible for assisting with nasal cannula to vent management. Weekly orientation consists of 1 shift. Upfront RTO (reasons to absence) requests of 7 or fewer days are accepted; additional RTO will not be approved. The facility allows every other weekend work.
