Job Summary:
Registered Nurse Maternal Child Health Ithaca, NY. This role involves providing direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department, supporting both postpartum and labor and delivery services. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans while ensuring patient and family needs are prioritized. The position requires expertise in postpartum care and the ability to independently care for mother and baby pairs, often staffing postpartum units.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher, completion of Post Partum nursing training, current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, and at least 1 year of clinical experience in postpartum or labor and delivery nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, cross-training in Labor and Delivery or NICU, and familiarity with AWHONN standards.
• Additional Information: The nurse will be responsible for caring for mother and infant couplets, assessing patients physical, emotional, and developmental needs, and participating in multidisciplinary team interventions. Critical thinking and person-centered care are essential for success in this role. The position involves working in a dedicated postpartum unit equipped for individualized and family-centered infant care.
