Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is located in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients with various diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and neurological emergencies. The RN will be responsible for managing complex patient conditions, titrating drips, and interpreting telemetry monitors in a fast-paced, 24/7 critical care environment.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Start Date: 08/31/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit; Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; 2 years of experience in ICU or similar setting.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. RN's must pass/fail a skills exam during orientation with a 90% passing score; an open-book exam will be given.
• Patient Ratios: 1:2, with adjustments to 1:5 for medical patients and 1:4 for Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Patient Care: Managing ventilators and other equipment such as BiPAP, Cpap, High Flow; reading telemetry strips; titrating complex drips including vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives.
• Unit Environment: Critical care coverage 24/7 with in-house hospitalists and/or intensivists, E-ICU staffed continuously.
• Staffing: Nurses work with patient care technicians; ratios are maintained with additional techs as needed.
• Float: Staff may float to PCU and medical floors.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
• Orientation: Includes a week of system orientation and 1-2 days of unit-specific training.
• Schedule: Shifts from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700, scheduled by the unit scheduler.
• Holiday and RTO Policy: Every other holiday; RTO requests of 7 days or less per 13-week contract are permitted.
• Location: 6901 N. 72ND. ST., Omaha, NE 68122.
• Additional Notes: Candidates must meet the radius requirement of 50 miles and not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with the organization, including related entities.
• Other: Scrub color is navy blue; the ICU uses EPIC for charting.
