Job Summary:
The operating room technician position is based in Boulder, Colorado. This role involves providing specialized support in a cardiac surgical unit, assisting with a variety of complex procedures including CABG, open heart, mitral valve replacement, DaVinci cardiac surgeries, and mitral clips. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting scrub and sterile processing activities, with a focus on teamwork and adaptability.

Job Details:

• Position: Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician
• Specialty: ORT Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech
• Location: Boulder, Colorado
• Schedule: 10-hour days, typically Monday through Thursday, with start times at 6:30 AM; actual scheduling may vary based on facility needs
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); at least 2 years of operating room experience; valid license to submit
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience scrubbing for cardiac cases such as CABG, mitral valve procedures, and DaVinci robotic surgeries; comfortable with float to cath lab and sterile processing areas; positive attitude and teamwork mentality
• Shift & Scheduling:
  • Day shifts with 10-hour hours
  • Weeknight call: 2-3 weeknights in a 6-week rotation from 11 PM to 7 AM (self-signup)
  • Weekend/Call: 7 PM Friday through 7 AM Monday in 12-hour increments (self-signup)
  • Holiday/on-call coverage as per rotation requirements
  • Call response time is 30 minutes
• Float: Float rotation may be required to main OR, cath lab, and sterile processing
• Additional Information:
  • Call rooms available for staff
  • Orientation depends on experience, ranging from 3 days up to 2 weeks, with efforts to orient to each specialty area
  • Manager will text to set up a second phone call
