Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This position involves providing critical care in a fast-paced emergency department environment. The role requires experienced healthcare professionals to manage a high volume of patients, including stroke cases and pediatric emergencies, within a facility that has a busy census.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois Licensed Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 3-5 years of ER experience; minimal time off in July for Epic updating, no time off in August due to go-live
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in high-acuity emergency care settings; familiarity with pediatric and stroke patient management
• Additional Information: The unit handles a census of approximately 180 patients daily, including a significant number of stroke and pediatric cases. The facility has 44 rooms, with each team managing 10 beds/pods. Staffing ratios support efficient operation, with a 1:4 or 1:6 ratio in triage areas. On-call responsibilities are not specified, and holiday needs are as required. Orientation hours include 12 hours of billable time and 6 hours of non-billable orientation starting August 26.
