Description

Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois. This position involves providing specialized obstetric and neonatal care in a hospital setting on night shifts. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns during active labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated; Certifications in NRP, ACLS, BLS, and Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM); Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; Valid certification(s) as specified.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stabilization of newborns and circulator duties for cesarean sections; Skills in titrating drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, including helping hands, sitters, and assisting with high-risk patients. Floats include neighboring units such as OB, ICU, Med/Surg, and Emergency Department; however, there is no inpatient Behavioral Health unit at this location.
  • Additional Information: The unit handles low to high-risk obstetric cases, with frequent deliveries and neonatal care. RN staff will utilize Philips fetal monitoring systems, EPIC and OBIX charting, with fetal monitoring surveillance from a central hub. Orientation includes 1-2 days, and the unit follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios.
