Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular Nurse is responsible for delivering specialized patient care in a dedicated cardiovascular intensive care setting located in Falls Church, Virginia. This role involves managing complex cardiac and vascular patients, utilizing advanced therapy modalities, and performing comprehensive assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Certifications include: Virginia RN License or Compact License, BLS, and ACLS.
• Education and experience requirements: Must have recent (2+ years) dedicated experience in an Intensive Care Unit specializing in Cardiovascular care, with proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG rhythm strips, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, and working with advanced therapy modalities including VV/VA ECMO, IABP (Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps), TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, PA Catheter Guided Therapy.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including rotating day and night shifts.
• Additional qualifications: Must have worked in a dedicated CVICU or CICU, and have strong experience with all advanced therapy modalities.
• Responsibilities include managing post-operative CABG, heart and lung transplants, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, lysis procedures, and post-IR/PCI procedures, as well as TEVAR cases.
• Float: Will primarily float between CICU and CVICU, with the flexibility to float to other Intensive Care Units including stepdown, progressive care, intermediate care, and telemetry units, as needed.
• Weekly schedule includes every other weekend and one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years) as well as one minor holiday or as needed.
• Orientation: Two shifts of floor orientation required.
• Scrubs: Navy blue pants with solid navy-blue or white tops; solid navy-blue or white jackets.
• Floor orientation shifts: 2 shifts.
• On-call: No on-call expectations specified.
• Epic access is required for this position.
