Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Yakima, Washington. This position involves providing acute patient care within a Level III trauma center that manages a diverse range of patient types, including neonatal to geriatric populations. The role offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical skills and adaptability.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS or ENPC, TNCC. A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a high-volume, large emergency department with high-acuity patients. Experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage (must pass hospital triage test), setting up chest tubes, arterial lines, assisting with trauma and code cases, splinting, BIPAP/vents, and a good understanding of ESI is required. Pediatric emergency medicine experience is highly preferred. Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric emergency medicine experience and familiarity with Point of Care Labs.
- Float: No float rotation required.
- Additional Information: The facility has 226 beds and features a 34-bed Emergency Department that handles approximately 200-250 patients daily. The ED is arranged in zones, including a fast track with 13 beds. The EMR system is Epic. The hospital regularly schedules every other weekend shifts, with flexibility expected, but no on-call required.
