Job Summary:
Behavioral Health Nurse - Salem, VA. This role involves providing specialized patient care within a behavioral health unit. The position requires coordination of various clinical procedures, adherence to safety protocols, and engagement in patient-centered therapeutic activities to support recovery and well-being.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and Basic Life Support (BLS); experience in behavioral health; proficiency in electronic health record documentation; manual blood pressure, glucometer, and electrocardiogram (EKG) skills; no minimum experience required beyond the role.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with verbal de-escalation procedures, monitoring vital signs, patient belongings search, milieu safety management, group therapy, and familiarity with Meditech documentation system.
• Float: Float to all units may be required.
• Additional Information: Candidate must follow BH finger print process as outlined in the provided documentation. Onboarding is scheduled to start approximately five weeks from the start date. Staff work three 12-hour shifts per week, with unit-specific policies reviewed during orientation. Candidates are encouraged to highlight any experience with new equipment, leadership awards, or unique unit features that may attract their interest.
