Job Summary:
The ORT (Operating Room Technician) position is located in Emeryville, California. This role involves supporting the surgical team by preparing instruments and supplies, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting during surgical procedures. It is an essential member of the clinical environment, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of surgical cases.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured program for Surgical Technology; Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred; BLS Basic Life Support certification; California state license or eligibility to obtain one; 0 years of experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; basic surgical procedures; sterile technique principles; computer proficiency; adherence to hospital policies and safety procedures; commitment to ongoing professional development
- Additional Information: The role entails anticipating the needs of surgeons, passing instruments, handling specimens and medications, maintaining sterile environment, and performing surgical counts. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively within the surgical team.
