Description

Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nursing position is located in Chandler, Arizona. This role involves providing specialized care to neonates in a Level II NICU setting, with a preference for candidates with recent Level II NICU experience. The position includes night shifts, weekend work, holiday rotation, and require self-scheduling. The NICU specializes in high-level neonatal care including respiratory support, ventilators, and complex medical conditions.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, a minimum of 36 hours per week, with four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule and holiday rotation. Self-scheduling is utilized.
  • Required Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, valid BLS and NRP certifications, and a passing score on a simulated lab assessment for Foley catheter insertion on the first day of orientation. Licensure to submit is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level III NICU is preferred.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit: NICU (Level II) with 12 private rooms and a Special Care Nursery with 18 beds.
    • Patient population includes babies 28 weeks gestation and above, with diagnoses such as respiratory distress syndrome, NICU-related conditions, NAS, and other neonatal complexities.
    • Management of vents, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-acuity neonatal protocols.
    • Staffing includes Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and neonatologists in-house during the day.
    • Facility features include GE monitors, Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators, Draeger, Vision Bipap, and V60s.
    • Float: Travelers will not be floated out of the NICU.
