Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Spokane, WA. This position involves providing specialized care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods within a Level II Trauma Center. The role requires flexibility to float between units and includes participation in high-risk obstetric cases, including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiple gestations, VBAC/TOLAC, induction, augmentation, and maternal emergencies. The shift schedule is for night shifts with a minimum of 48 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Washington or Compact registered nurse (RN) license in hand; certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate; 2 years of experience in labor and delivery with high-risk obstetric care; experience with facility births/month 200-300, high-risk antepartum, use of intrauterine pressure catheters, maintaining central lines, administering magnesium sulfate, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and fetal monitoring methods.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level II facility and specialized obstetric procedures such as cerclages, versions, high-risk maternal-fetal medicine patients, and cardiac patients.
  • Additional Information: The role supports a busy unit with approximately 25 beds, handling around 3600 deliveries annually. Candidates should be familiar with various obstetric and neonatal procedures, including sterile exams, fetal monitoring, medication administration, and postpartum care. The position may require floating between units and adherence to interdisciplinary team protocols.
  • Note: Candidates must meet specific compliance document deadlines and disclose prior experience at the facility during the application process.
