Job Summary
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients within a busy unit, supporting stable feeders as well as critically ill infants. The position requires delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on patient safety and family-centered care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Evenings from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Indiana licensure as a registered nurse, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications. Two years of NICU level 3 experience required. EMR familiarity with Cerner.
- Preferred Qualifications: NICU level 3 experience.
- Float: Floating may be required to assist in other areas; however, the nurse will not take assignments in units outside of NICU.
- Additional Information: The unit has 40 beds with a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3. Block scheduling is utilized, and approved orientation includes two 12-hour shifts. Travelers must attach necessary licenses and certifications, and includeDriver's License and permanent home address, matching ID. Local candidates are not accepted; travelers must be more than 50 miles from the facility. The nurse is expected to wear navy blue scrubs.
