Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Alaska this position involves providing professional nursing direct patient care within the labor and delivery department. The role emphasizes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to support patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum care, following established standards and policies.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in labor and delivery, current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN Intermediate, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications, and a pending license accepted.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic fetal monitoring, obstetric procedures (e.g., cesarean, vaginal delivery), neonatal assessment, and related clinical skills such as administering blood products, epidural management, and newborn care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required up to 3 times per month, assisting with hands-on tasks, camera watching, or CNA-type work.
  • Additional Information: The role involves assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care needs, documenting accurately, and delegating tasks appropriately. The department supports neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults, with a daily census of 1-4 patients. The unit is equipped with specialized equipment including fetal monitors, radiant warmers, and labor beds.
