Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery at an Alaska-based healthcare facility. This role involves providing care for women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The position emphasizes the use of advanced equipment and up-to-date procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (Certified Surgical Tech), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). No minimum years of experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in labor and delivery setting, knowledge of Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
- Position Description:
- Unit: Labor, Delivery, Postpartum (LDRP)
- Bed Count: 7 beds
- Staff: 2 Registered Nurses (RNs) and 1 surgical technician are typically scheduled.
- Procedures performed: Vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, Dilation and Curettage (D&C), Tubal Ligation, Vaginal repairs, Hysterectomy
- Equipment: GE electronic documentation system (EPIC)
- Policies: Please adhere to unit-specific policies and guidelines.
- Certifications: Must possess Certified Surgical Tech, BLS, and NRP certifications.
- Dress Code: Scrubs (provided)
- Floating Policy: May be floated as needed when census is low
- Additional information: The unit offers modern technology, experienced staff, and a team dedicated to providing high-quality obstetric care.
