Description
Job Summary:
Post Partum Floor Registered Nurse in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This position involves working in a postpartum unit with a focus on caring for new mothers and their newborns. The role requires flexibility to float as needed and emphasizes the delivery of high-quality postpartum nursing care in a busy hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Shift: Rotating shifts with 12-hour shift hours
- Schedule: Working a minimum of 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and every other major holiday
- Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts registered nurse license (current or conditional), current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, at least 1 year of experience in postpartum nursing, willingness to accept first-time travel assignments, and a current drivers license matching demographics.
- Preferred Qualifications: Lactation certification, travel experience
- Additional Information: Must have acute care experience. Flu vaccine required during season. Scrubs are provided. Orientation includes three days of hospital system-wide training plus three days on the unit. There are no on-call duties, though volunteer coverage for vacant shifts is encouraged. Candidates should have recent experience with specialty equipment including Welch Allyn blood pressure devices, Nihon Khoden monitors, venodynm machines, IV pumps, panda warmers, and Medela breast pumps. The unit typically cares for patients with diagnoses such as post vaginal delivery, post cesarean delivery, postpartum magnesium administration, and postpartum hemorrhage. Must provide an up-to-date resume demonstrating at least one year of postpartum experience, along with two recent reference contacts from charge RNs, managers, or supervisors familiar with the relevant specialty.
