Description

Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position in California. This role involves responsible assessment, coordination, and delivery of nursing care within an acute patient setting. The ICU nurse will provide holistic, individualized care to adult patients, develop and implement care plans, and foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS (within 180 days of hire), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course within 180 days of hire), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale within 90 days)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS* (within 180 days of start), TNCC (within 180 days of start)
  • Skills: Arterial line management, assist with Chest Tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, management of patients with renal failure, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, infection prevention, interpretation of arterial blood gases, dysrhythmia interpretation, PPE and isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, management of multisystem organ failure, PICC line management, post-craniotomy and neurosurgery management, procedural sedation, pulmonary artery line monitoring, spinal cord injury, ventilator management, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury, suctioning, surgical ICU care, starting and maintaining IVs, and more.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience required.
  • Patient Ratios: 2 patients during day or night shifts, 2 patients on weekends, with occasional float rotations.
  • Additional Unit Support: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, unit secretary support.
  • Special Procedures/Equipment: PALS certification required within 180 days; TNCC or TCAR required within 180 days.
