Description
Job Summary:
Nurse Manager Labor & Delivery in San Luis Obispo, California. This leadership position involves supervising nursing personnel in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and trauma center. The role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring optimal outcomes, and fostering a collaborative, safe, and culturally diverse environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, starting from 08/31/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and related experience; required. Master's Degree preferred. Five years' technical experience preferred. Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required. Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor required.
- Essential Functions: Provides unit-based leadership in clinical service development; supervises and directs staff; initiates and coordinates care planning; manages personnel during patient activities; collaborates with the healthcare team; ensures compliance with safety standards; participates in quality improvement initiatives; assesses staffing needs; evaluates and coaches staff; ensures equipment and department safety; maintains documentation and communication with leadership.
- Additional Information: Experience with trauma care is preferred. Requires at least 2 years of charge or lead nursing experience. No call responsibilities.
