Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology on the Nights shift at a healthcare facility located in Birmingham, Alabama. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for oncology patients, including post-operative, palliative, and outpatient oncology services. The role requires dedication to patient-centered care and collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional treatment and support.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
  • Schedule: Nights.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, at least 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting dealing with oncology, palliative, post-operative bariatric, or medical/surgical overflow units, located within a 25-mile radius of the facility.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a hospital or healthcare facility with oncology units and caring for complex medical conditions.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, including to other facilities within scope in a 25-mile radius.
  • Additional Information: This role involves working with patients primarily in oncology, palliative care, post-op bariatric, and medical/surgical overflow units. The position demands responsible, dependable, compassionate, hardworking, patient-oriented, and kind candidates. The dress code specifies scrubs in navy color, with only scrubs and scrub jackets allowed. The unit is equipped with computers, IV pumps, vital sign machines, and other basic medical equipment, using the Cerner Electronic Medical Record system.
