Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Exeter, New Hampshire. This position involves providing specialized care in a Level 2 maternity unit, with a focus on maternal-child health, newborns, and occasional age-appropriate medical-surgical patients. The role includes working night shifts, with responsibilities related to both maternity and postpartum care, as well as pediatrics, utilizing advanced monitoring and delivery equipment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; scheduling is done in 6-week periods with no self-scheduling. Every third weekend is required. Call may be necessary depending on patient census and clinical need.
- Required Qualifications: Valid NH or compact state nursing license; experience with labor and delivery (L&D), postpartum, and pediatrics; proficiency with Epic electronic health record system; current BLS-AHA, ACLS-AHA, and NRP certifications; highly preferred candidates will have the Clinical Evaluation Form for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (C-EFM).
- Additional Information: The unit is a 19-bed L&D, mother-baby, and pediatrics unit that handles approximately 600 deliveries annually. Responsibilities include circulating during procedures, with optional scrub skills. Experience with fetal monitoring (Phillips), IV pumps, ICU medical Plum 360, epidural and PCA pumps, glucometers, and unit-specific protocols such as IV management, RN bedside ultrasound for presentation, epidural catheter removal post-delivery, and phlebotomy are required. Orientation includes two days; navy blue scrubs are provided. No gel or fake nails are permitted. The facility performs cesarean sections on-site and delivers babies from 35 weeks gestation and up, including Level 2 maternity and Level 1 nursery care.
