Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves providing patient care in a hospital setting for adult surgical cases, including hip and knee replacements, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries. The position requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses, with a focus on timely patient care and compliance with hospital protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Medical Surgical (MS) experience in a hospital or medical center setting; EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Iowa or multistate license in good standing; BLS (American Heart Association); Drivers License; professional references within the last 24 months.
- Preferred Qualifications: Post-operative surgical experience, especially with hip/knee, mastectomies, or abdominal surgeries; Medical Surgical and Telemetry skills checklist specific to the discipline; highly preferred if the candidate has experience with PCA and Heparin drips.
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) required.
- Float: Float rotation may be required across all campuses.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be available to work 1-2 of the upcoming three summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). Candidate must have an Iowa or multistate license at the time of submission.
