Job Summary:
The ICU Neurological (Intensive Care Unit Neurological) registered nurse position is located in Rockford, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care in the neurological intensive care setting, with a focus on patients requiring critical neurological monitoring and interventions. The candidate will be responsible for utilizing advanced nursing skills to deliver safe, effective patient care within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, CPR certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; graduate of an accredited nursing program; at least 1 year of nursing experience in ICU or neuro-critical care settings
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center, willingness to float to Step-Down ICU, similar neuro-critical care experience
• Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care. Documents according to standards of care. Develops and implements patient care plans in accordance with physician and hospital policy, including patient and family education. Participates in department performance improvement activities and may support other units/departments in support of the patients individual plan of care. Critical thinking skills are essential to ensure patient safety and experience, with escalation of concerns as appropriate.
