Description

Job Summary:
The position of Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical with Telemetry specialty is located in an organization that requires clinical expertise in telemetry nursing within a fast-paced hospital unit. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, educating, and documenting patient care for a telemetry unit that manages short-term hospital stays, with patients typically remaining 8 to 48 hours. The nurse will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality care in a setting similar to the emergency room with diagnostic workups and monitoring, and will float to multiple units as needed.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, completion of BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from the American Heart Association, Epic electronic health record experience, proven ability to work in a fast-paced telemetry environment, and at least 6 months free from employment with the organization, whether through permanent, per diem, or contract employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit, knowledge of hospital standards for short-stay units, and familiarity with clinical decision units or observation units.
  • Additional Information: The nurse must pass a PASS/FAIL ECG/TELE testing and medication test prior to assignment, with testing conducted via Zoom Protecter meeting. The testing must be completed within 48 hours of offer, and no re-sits are permitted. This position involves working in a unit designed for patients with conditions requiring specific hospital-based services, with a patient length of stay typically ranging from 8 to 48 hours. The role may include floating to Medical Surgical units.
