Description

Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing opportunity is located in Fargo, North Dakota. This position involves caring for adult and pediatric patients following various surgical procedures within a Level 1 trauma center. The role requires adaptability to shift rotations, including nights and weekends, and the ability to float between units and campuses as needed.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with the majority of hours from 0700 to 2300. The schedule includes rotating call, occasional nights, and weekends, with work hours ranging from 8 to 12 hours per shift.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, minimum of 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) experience, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and PALS (American Heart Association) certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care experience and large hospital experience (250+ beds).
  • Float: Float to other units or departments, possibly between campuses for Phase I PACU.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit features include 18 Bay Phase I PACU and 14 Bay Phase I PACU across two floors with the same staff.
    • Caring for all surgical specialties, including ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and Interventional Radiology patients post-procedures.
    • Utilizes Epic charting, AcuDose Medication Dispensing, Phillips monitors, vents, and BiPAP equipment.
    • Nurse to patient ratio is 1-1 or 2-1, following ASPAN (American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses) standards.
    • Hospital-provided scrubs and orientation include basic hospital/unit training with Buddy RN support.
    • The position begins on 09/14/2026.
